Stern Whirly-Bird:

This is a whirly-bird with your head in the water or just above. Once you can stall the boat on its stern by putting all your body weight in the water, put the blade at 45° inline with your head and do draw strokes remembering head rotation in the direction of your draw. The boat will now spin on its vertical axis with the bow in the air.

If it becomes unstable you can smash the bow down into a front stall and do a whirly-bird or bring it round in a cartwheel back into a stern whirly-bird again.

If you can do these the options for play are endless and it makes things like split-wheels easier!
