Boat: i3
Manufacturer: Pyranha

Review:
The i3 is Pyranha’s new model of the infamous Ina-zone series, which opened up the whole idea of river running specific boats to a real extent. Using planning hull technology, this had only previously been used on Playboats.
The boat has loads of rocker combined with good rails and a swallow tail to improve carving and speed without adding extra length to the boat. The boat is fairly responsive and feels bomb proof. I to like many others had an Ina-zone 230 and felt comfortable in all sizes of water all round Europe.
With the addition of these more refined rails and a more slicey shape the i3 can still play on the way down your favorite patch of liquid.
When you want to hit you’re high Alpine runs or winter Flood Rivers here this is a damn good choice. The pillars are reinforced for those scary moments should you get pinned.
These babies also come fitted with DMM attachment points should you need to get you’re ass out of a tricky situation. Also there are fixed open tape grab loops, which are easy should a swimmer need them for grabbing as well as for those occasional portages where you have to drag you’re river weapon through deep undergrowth or jungle! The boat is also very roomy for easy exit and long times spent in you’re boat. The seat is real comfy like most Pyranha boats these days.
Unfortunately this is one of those specific boats for a special use. I would only use one myself if safety was the paramount of the day, say in a flooded river or on some heavy technical drops. I find the boat quite sluggish in the water and is definitely a true river runner and not a boat to be learning to play in.
In the end I still like the boat as it meets the requirements for its intended use and is well put together.
