Orbit:

This is a tail-squirt, which is brought round into a cartwheel. Steadily paddle forward and edge off to your right. Hold that edge while looking straight ahead and initiate a small turning stroke on the right from the bow.

This makes the boat unstable as it cuts into the water in an arc!

Looking now to the left at the end of your paddle blade as you move it to the stern of the boat push the blade deep into water as force the paddle through the water. The paddle will be held vertical at this point of initiation!

Remembering especially that you are not Hercules and that good body and head rotation will make up for brute force and ignorance. So looking along you paddle to your blades and eventually to the stern of the boat will off set the boat at an angle making your tail-squirt easier!

Do not try to sweep from the side as this wastes force that can be used to get the boat vertical quicker and more effectively.

The blade will pass up the left side about 1ft out from the side of the boat, and will exit the water at you’re bow as the boat goes vertical!

You are now vertical!

Now as you have momentum from your tail-squirt you must follow through as if you have done one rotation of a cartwheel and smash your vertical bow back down into the water.

You can do this by bringing your left blade round to your stern and rotating your head and torso as you plant the left blade in the water and push down hard, which will smash the bow down into the water as a cartwheel!
