Boat: Kingpin:Icon 6.2
Manufacturer: Dagger

Review:
An improvement on the Kingpin the Icon has some nice new features. The fins for a start are fantastic. I was able to get huge aerial cut backs when surfing, and get great speed up & down the line when carving on the steepest of waves.

The boat itself has better foot room than the same size Kingpin. The volume pods are a contentious issue. I however can say that they are a brilliant and do make an absolute difference. They are great for getting big air. However I found that they made the edges trippy whilst surfing and prefer not to have them attached then.

The Flipswitch™ Backband is fantastic and doesn’t slip at all, plus it has the added advantage of not wearing out like previous ratchet systems used in all mainstay manufactured boats today!

The D Bone™ Subframe is good as it keeps the hull rigid so you can put more pressure on it and get higher air as well as not oil canning the hull.

The Performance Fit System™ is also very good with the Aircore™ pads, which have been slightly reworked to provide even better support just above your hips. However there is still the problem of air leaking from the bladders in the pads making them deflate over time. However I found this was minimal and not very noticeable.

The seat itself is stupidly easy to adjust with a plastic screw knob behind the backband being easily accessible even whilst on the water. A friend often adjusts his seat whilst out the back in the surf. That’s how easy it is. 60 seconds or less to adjust! It also has a Rebound pad on it making it comfortable and warm!

The boat loops, floops, cartwheels and stalls so easily its madness!

All in all a fantastic piece if kit for your money. Get one of these and get your pilots license for those "Big Days". If you can't make this baby fly then you had better take up darts!
